In August, the sales and production of automobiles in China witnessed growth comparing with that of last month; while continued to fall on yearly basis. Since this May, the monthly sales and production had been lower than the same period of last year for four successive months. Moreover, the accumulative sales and production of the first eight months were lower than the previous year as well.
        This month, the production and sales of automobiles in China reached 1,569,700 and 1,664,500 units respectively, up 3.4% and 10.7% than that of last month, but down 8.4% and 3% year on year. For the first eight months, the production and sales of automobiles were 15,182,400 and 15,017,200 units respectively, both slightly lower than the same period of last year.
