In September, the total sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 975,000 units, up 39.1% year on year, accounting for 43.0% of the total sales of passenger cars. The market share increased 3.1 percentage points than the previous year. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 214,000 units, up 11.5% year on year, accounting for 19.1% of the total sales of cars, with a decrease of 1.0 percentage points on market share. The sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 514,000 units and 198,000 units respectively, up 74.5% and 38.9% year on year. Their market shares increased 6.8 percentage points and 1.0 percentage points, reaching 58.5% and 89.3% respectively.
For the first nine months, the accumulated sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 7,072,000 units, up 18.7% year on year. The market share increased 1.4 percentage points than the previous year, reaching 42.2%. To be specific, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 1,572,000 units, down 8.1% year on year, with a decrease of 2.2 percentage points on market share, reaching 18.6%. On the contrary, the sales of Chinese brand SUV and MPV both enjoyed growth in sales volume and market share. The sales reached 3,373,000 units and 1,565,000 units respectively, up 56.6% and 25.4% year on year. Their market shares increased 3.8 percentage points and 1.8 percentage points, reaching 56.2% and 89.5% respectively.
