In February, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 1,439,000 and 1,476,000 units respectively, down 38.2% and 39.9% than that of last month, and down 22.1% and 9.6% year on year.
　　For the first two months, the production and sales of passenger cars were 3,770,000 and 3,932,000 units respectively, down 3.8% in production but up 2.1% in sales year on year. As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period last year, except that SUV continued growth, of which the production and sales were up 4.5% and 11.6%, others all witnessed decline. To be specific, the production and sales of cars were down 6.6% and 0.7% respectively. For MPV, the production and sales were down 16.6% and 15.3%. The situation of crossed passenger cars was even worse, of which such figures decreased by 41.9% and 34.7%.
　　In February, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 1,009,000 units, down 12.4% year on year. The sales accounted for 68.4% of the total sales of passenger cars, 2.2 percentage points lower than the same period last year. For the first two months, the sales of passenger cars with engine capacity of 1.6L and below reached 2,706,000 units, down 0.8% year on year, 2 percentage points lower than the same period last year, accounting for 68.3% of the total sales of passenger cars. Such figures for Chinese brand passenger cars were 1,430,000 units, up 2.7% year on year.
