In May, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 1,491,000 and 1,561,000 units respectively, down 10.2% and 0.9% than that of last month, and down 23.7% and 17.4% year on year. The decrease rate was still higher than the overall.

　　For the first five months, the production and sales of passenger cars were 8,379,000 and 8,399,000 units respectively, down 15.6% and 15.2% year on year. The sales decrease rate slightly enlarged comparing with the first four months. As for the passenger cars by type, comparing with the same period last year, the production and sales of cars were down 13.1% and 13.4% respectively. SUV also witnessed decline. Such figures were down 17.9% and 15.7%. For MPV, the production and sales were down 21.1% and 23.9%. For crossed passenger cars, the production and sales were down 0.1% and 13.1%.
