In May, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 357,000 and 351,000 units respectively, down 8.8% and 13.4% than that of last month, and down 8.5% and 11.8% year on year. This month, the production and sales of heavy-duty trucks reached 114,000 and 108,000 units respectively, up 4.7% in production but down 4.7% in sales year on year.

　　For the first five months, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 1,858,000 and 1,867,000 units respectively, up 0.7% in production but down 1.3% in sales year on year. The growth rate decreased by 2.5 percentage points and 2.8 percentage points comparing with the first four months. As seen by type, the production and sales of buses were 164,000 units and 168,000 units respectively, down 12.5% and 8.8% than the previous year. Such figures for trucks were 1,694,000 units and 1,700,000 units, up 2.2% in production but down 0.5% in sales year on year, of which the heavy-duty trucks were 545,000 units and 553,000 units, up 2.2% in production but down 1.3% in sales year on year.
