In 2018, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 23,529,000 and 23,710,000 units respectively, down 5.2% and 4.1% year on year, accounting for 84.6% and 84.4% of the overall, 0.9 percentage points and 1.2 percentage points lower than that of last year. Comparing with the same period last year, the growth rate of the first half was much higher than the next one. 

　　As seen by type, all presented negative growth than a year earlier, of which the crossed passenger cars continued to shrink. To be specific, the production and sales of cars were down 4% and 2.7% respectively; the SUVs were down 3.2% and 2.5%; the MPVs were down 17.9% and 16.2%; the crossed passenger cars were down 20.8% and 17.3%.
