The passenger cars market share of Chinese brand continued to decline

In September of 2013, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 608,600 units, up 18.31% than that of last month and up 8.3% year on year, accounting for 38.2% of the total sales of passenger cars. The sales increased by 0.2 percentage points than that of last month, but decreased by 4.5 percentage points from the previous year.
        For the first nine months, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars were 5,125,000 units, up 12.1% year on year, 1.9 percentage points lower than the overall growth. The sales accounted for 39.9% of the total sales of passenger cars, down 0.7 percentage points from a year earlier.
        In September, the sales of Chinese brand cars reached 276,200 units, up 23.3% than that of last month while down 1.8% year on year. The sales accounted for 25.9% of the total sales of cars. The market share increased by 1 percentage point comparing with last month, but down 4.4 percentage points from the previous year.
        For the first nine months, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 2,311,200 units, up 10.2% year on year, accounting for 26.7% of the total sales of cars. The market share has decreased by 0.1 percentage points from the previous year.
        In September, the sales of foreign brand passenger cars enjoyed an increase comparing with last month, of which Japanese passenger cars were up 35.1%. Comparing with last September, Japanese passenger cars were up 73.7%, with the highest growth; German passenger cars and American passenger cars all increased more than 20%; and the growth of other brands was less than 10%. This month, the sales of German brand, Japanese brand, American brand, Korean brand and French brand respectively accounted for 19.3%, 17.5%, 13%, 8.5% and 2.9% of the total sales of the passenger cars. Comparing with last month, Japanese passenger cars enjoyed a sharp increase while German passenger cars witnessed a sharp decline. Both American and Korean brand decreased slightly. The French passenger cars remained stable. Comparing with last September, Japanese passenger cars increased by 5.3 percentage points; while German and American brand increased slightly and Korean and French brand showed a small decline.
        In September, the sales of Japanese cars were up 34.5% than that of last month, with the highest growth; and other brands all somehow increased. Comparing with last September, Japanese cars were up 65.8%. Besides, German and American cars all showed an increase, but Korean and French cars somehow decreased. This month, the sales of German cars, Japanese cars, American cars, Korean cars and French cars respectively accounted for 24.8%, 19%, 16.2%, 9.2% and 3.9% of the total sales of cars.
        For the first nine months, generally speaking, the sales of major foreign brand passenger cars were lower than that of the same period of last year, of which Japanese brand decreased by 3.5%. But it was gradually recovering. The increase of German, American, Korean and French brand all maintained more than 20%. The market share of German, Japanese, American, Korean and French passenger cars were 19.8%, 15.4%, 12.5%, 9% and 3.1% respectively.
        From January to September, for the sales of major foreign brand cars comparing with the same period of last year, Japanese cars were down 5.2% while the growth of German, American, Korean and French cars was higher than the overall speed of the industry. The market share of German, Japanese, American, Korean and French cars were 25.5%, 17.3%, 15.9%, 10% and 4.2% respectively.
