The market share of Chinese brand passenger cars continued to decline

In November of 2013, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars reached 686,400 units, up 5.5% than that of last month and up 7.5% year on year, accounting for 40.5% of the total sales of passenger cars. The sales were in line with last month, but decreased by 3.2 percentage points from the previous year.
        For the first eleven months, the sales of Chinese brand passenger cars were 6,462,100 units, up 11.5% year on year, 3.6 percentage points lower than the overall growth. The sales accounted for 40% of the total sales of passenger cars, down 1.3 percentage points from a year earlier.
        In November, the sales of Chinese brand cars reached 325,400 units, up 8.6% than that of last month and up 0.6% year on year. The sales accounted for 28.9% of the total sales of cars. The market share increased by 0.6 percentage points comparing with last month, but down 2.5 percentage points from the previous year.
        For the first eleven months, the sales of Chinese brand cars were 2,936,200 units, up 8.6% year on year, accounting for 27.1% of the total sales of cars. The market share has decreased by 0.7 percentage points from the previous year.
        This month, the sales of German brand, Japanese brand, American brand, Korean brand and French brand respectively accounted for 15.6%, 19.2%, 12.7%, 8.6% and 3.2% of the total sales of the passenger cars. Comparing with last month, the sales of Japanese brand enjoyed a faster growth both on monthly and yearly basis. In addition, its market share also surpassed German brand.
        In November, the sales of German cars, Japanese cars, American cars, Korean cars and French cars respectively accounted for 20.3%, 20.8%, 15.8%, 9.4% and 4.3% of the total sales of cars. Comparing with last month, the market share of Japanese brand surpassed German brand.
        For the first eleven months, for the sales of major foreign brand passenger cars comparing with the same period of last year, the growth of Japanese brand continued to increase. Other also enjoyed a faster growth. The accumulative market share of German, Japanese, American, Korean and French passenger cars were 19.2%, 16%, 12.5%, 8.9% and 3.1% respectively.
        From January to November, for the sales of major foreign brand cars comparing with the same period of last year, Japanese cars were up 7.1%, up 5.4 percentage points than that of the first ten months. The growth of German and French cars was higher than the overall speed of the industry. But the growth of American and Korean cars was lower than the overall speed. The accumulative market share of German, Japanese, American, Korean and French cars were 24.8%, 17.8%, 16%, 9.7% and 4.2% respectively.
