In March, the production and sales of passenger cars were 1,748,300 and 1,710,100 units respectively, up 30.5% and 30.3% than that of last month, and up 5.5% and 7.9% year on year. For the first quarter, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 4,798,700 and 4,869,500 units respectively, up 9.5% and 10.1% year on year.
        From the perspective of auto type, SUV and MPV increased obviously in the first quarter, both exceeding 30%, which were the key factors to drive the growth of passenger cars; while the growth of cars seemed to be slowed, less than 5%. Moreover, the sales and production of cross passenger cars even decreased by over 20%.
