In March, the production and sales of commercial vehicles were 453,400 and 459,000 units respectively, up 51.8% and 61.5% than that of last month. The growth rate was higher than that of passenger cars. Comparing with last March, the production and sales were up 5.9% and 2.1% respectively, reaching the highest over the past three years.
For the first quarter, the production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 1,092,900 and 1,052,800 units respectively, up 7.8% and 5.1% year on year.
As for the production and sales by type, the growth rates of buses were 6.1% and 10.6% respectively in the first quarter, of which the production and sales of bus chassis decreased by 5.3% and 7.3%. The growth rates of trucks were 8% and 4.4%, of which the growth of semi-trailers and truck chassis remained in a relatively high level.
