In May, the production and sales of passenger cars were 1,649,600 and 1,590,400 units respectively, down 1.1% and 1.2% than that of last month, but up 16.2% and 13.9% year on year, generally running well.
        For the first five months, the production and sales of passenger cars reached 8,109,500 and 8,070,100 units respectively, both up 11.1% year on year.
        As for the first five months by type, SUV and MPV significantly increased, both exceeding 30%, which became the key drive of the growth of passenger cars. While the growth rates of the production and sales of cars remained low, only 5% and 5.4% respectively. What’s worse, the production and sales of crossed passenger cars decreased by more than 10%, a little bit narrower than that of the first four months.
