The Review Meeting of “the Development Research of Auto Industry Process and Equipment” was held in Beijing on Feb 29th, 2012.  Dongfeng, Changan, GAC, JAC, CNHTC, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Central South University, CGMA, Reproducing key laboratory, Mechanical Institute of Science and Technology, and Industrial Design Institute participated in this meeting.

Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang and Deputy Secretary General Mr. Ye Shengji of CAAM attended the meeting.
        The meeting first established the nine-member review experts group, including CMIF, Dongfeng Group, SAIC Group, BAIC Group, BSAE, CICEIA, CAM, etc. Mr. Zhang Zhenhua, deputy chief engineer of SAIC Group, was recommended as the group leader at the meeting.
        Mr. Zhang Zhenhua presided the meeting.
        Mr. Ye Shengji delivered a report on research background, objectives, contents and results on behalf of the review group. The report mainly focused on five aspects of “the Report of the Development Research of Auto Industry Process and Equipment” （hereinafter referred to as “Research Report”）, including comprehensive analysis on process engineering, current situation of process technology and equipment, development tendency, development needs, and development proposal, etc.
        Mr. Ye Shengji indicated that nearly 40 enterprises and units took part in the “Research Report” and provided support and guidance. More than 60 experts contributed to write the report directly. The “Research Report” covered the basic technology area such as stamping, welding, coating, assembling, forging, test and detection. It also covered the new technology area such as new energy vehicle, automobiles lightening, new technique of engine, high efficiency transmission, and reproducing. More than 16 process technology areas such as special vehicle, bus, and key parts were involved as well. 
        Mr. Ye Shengji pointed out that China auto industry had become an important component of world’s auto industry. However, auto industry of China was big but not strong, especially in the independent innovation and research and the manufacturing capacity, which was unable to meet the sustainable development demand. The research group studied the situation of auto industry process engineering and equipment, development priority and tendency and also raised the auto industry process and equipment development objectives and proposal.
        The review experts group carefully reviewed the report and gave some suggestions. The experts group highly appreciated the research results. They believed that the “Research Report” was well-structured and informative, the data analysis was sufficient. The development guideline, objectives, priority and suggestions introduced by the research group provided an important basis for the policy making of auto industry process and equipment development.
        Group of Experts unanimously agreed to approve the study.
        At last, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang made the summary. He confirmed the hard work of the research group and substantial results and awarded honorary certificates to Dongfeng Group Mr. Zou Hengqi and the Chairman of CGMA Mr. Wang Shengtang on behalf of CAAM.
