The First Session of 7th Member's Representative Assembly and Council Enlarged Meeting of CAAM was held in Beijing on Apr 20th, 2012. Mr. Hu Maoyuan and Mr. Xu Jianyi, who are, respectively, the 6th and 7th Council Chairman of CAAM, presided the meeting.

This meeting was the general election meeting of CAAM and therefore received high attention of competent authorities. Mr. Wang Ruixiang, Vice Director of Proposals Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of China Machinery Industry Federation (CMIF), Mr. Yang Yue, Deputy Director General of Civil Organization Bureau of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and Mr. Zhang Tao, Deputy Inspector of the State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) attended the meeting.

The meeting approved “the Medium and Long Term Development Program of CAAM” and “the Self-discipline Agreement of China Automobile Industry”.  “The Development Program of Automobile Industry during the 12th Five Year Plan” was released during the meeting. The meeting also raised “the Development Objectives of the 7th Council of CAAM”, giving directions of sustainable and healthy development of automotive industry and CAAM.
