On the morning of Mar. 21st, 2013, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Dong Yang and the Deputy Secretary General Mr. Ye Shengji jointly met with three guests from Ford, who were the Chief Economist Ms. Ellen Hughes-Cromwick, the Economic Analyst of Ford China Ms. Jiang Chan and the Senior Manager of Government Affairs Ms. Zhang Haihua.
Mr. Dong Yang firstly welcomed their visit. Then, he introduced some hot issues concerned by Ms. Ellen, including the overall situation of the development of China auto industry in recent years, factors and policies which restricted industrial development, the current status and future tendency of commercial vehicles and so on. He said that the key factor which affected the vehicle sales would be traffic. The purchasing and driving limitations implemented in some big cities had already played negative roles in auto consumption.
Mr. Ye Shengji gave a detailed introduction about the development of new energy vehicles in China. He said that the new energy vehicles had made a prominent progress in recent years after a relatively rapid development, especially the development of hybrid technology.
In the end, Ms. Ellen introduced the economic situation of America and Europe and their automotive developing trends. She pointed that due to the influences of former economic crisis, although the economy in both America and Europe had recovered, it would take a long time for the auto industry to fully reach to the level of pre-crisis. Moreover, the auto market in America and Europe tended to be saturated. Most of time, the auto market needed to rely on export.
