2013 China Auto Forum, the focus of the world’s attention was held in Shanghai on April 20th to 21st.
The Forum was a top and high-end auto forum in China, which was held by CAAM, supported by OICA and participated by World Economic Forum.
More than 600 domestic and foreign guests attended this forum, including Mr. Su Bo, Vice Minister of MIIT, Mr. Xue Yiping, Executive Vice Chairman of CMIF, Mr. Zheng Lixin, Chief of Department of Industry Policy of MIIT, Mr. Wang Fuchang, Inspector of Equipment Department of MIIT, Mr. Chen Lin, Commercial Counselor of Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of MOFCOM, Mr. Hui Boyang, Vice Chief of Department of Quality Management of AQSIQ, Mr. Zhang Wei, Division Chief of Vehicle Purchase Tax Division of Department of Goods and Service Tax of SAT, Mr. Xu Jianyi, Chairman of CAAM and China FAW Group Corporation, Mr. Dong Yang, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM, Mr. Zhang Jinhua, Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of SAE-China, Mr. Patrick Blain, President of OICA, Mr. John B. Moavenzadeh, Senior Director of World Economic Forum as well as some domestic medias, the presidents (secretary general) of automobile associations of other countries and representatives of Chairman Unit, Vice Chairman Units, Executive Council Units and several Member Units of CAAM.
This year’s forum was composed of three major parts, the Closed-Door Summit, Main Forum and four Sub-Forums. During the forum, participants jointly discussed issues concerning strategies of automotive industry development of China and the world under new growth trend.
Closed-Door Summit Site
Hosted by Mr. Dong Yang, the Closed-Door Summit of 2013 China Auto Forum was held on the afternoon of April 20th. Nearly a hundred senior leaders were invited, including leaders of major auto manufacturers both at home and abroad, officers of World Economic Forum, presidents of foreign automobile associations and some related government officials.

Participants in the summit showed their views on relative policies and hot issues which they concerned most. Then, the Vice Minister of MIIT Mr. Su Bo delivered a speech entitled “How to Deal with the Challenges for Chinese Automotive Industry under New Growth Trend”.
In summary, Mr. Dong Yang raised some advices and suggestions.
On the morning of April 21st, the Main Forum was held.
Mr. Xu Jianyi, Chairman of CAAM and China FAW Group Corporation, delivered a speech.
Mr. Patrick Blain, President of OICA, gave a speech.
On the forum, Mr. Dong Yang made a keynote speech on Thoughts on the Strategy of Building China into an Auto Power.
Mr. John B. Moavenzadeh, Senior Director of World Economic Forum delivered a speech entitled “Current Situation and Future Tendency of the Development of Global Auto Industry”.
Mr. Zhu Fushou, General Manager of Dongfeng Motor delivered a speech entitled “A Sixty-Year of Review, Enlightenment and Outlook of Chinese Automotive Industry”.
Mr. Feng Fei, Chief of Research Department of Industrial Economy of DRC, delivered a speech on Current Economic Situation and Future Expectations of China and the World.
Mr. Zeng Qinghong, General Manager of GAIG, attended the forum and delivered a speech.
Interaction Site
Hosted by Mr. Dong Yang, the interaction of main forum invited representatives from OICA, AAM, CCFA, ANFIA, JAMA, KAMA and SIAM to participate in. In this session, the participants carried out deep discusses and exchanges on issues concerning the development of world automotive industry as well as the current situation of their own country. In addition, they raised some advices and suggestions about the development and prospect of Chinese automotive industry under globalization.
On that afternoon, four sub-forums were held at the same time. They were Sub-Forum One: Strategic Planning for Auto Industry Development under New Growth Trend; Sub-Forum Two: Auto Brands and Internationalization under New Trend; Sub-Forum Three: Build a Harmonious and Green Auto Society; and Sub-Forum Four: Development of Auto Market and Solutions to Traffic Problems, among which Sub-Forum Three and Four were jointly held by CAAM and World Economic Forum.
