Jointly organized by CAAM, TVMA and ARTC, 2013 Cross-Strait Conference on Auto Industrial Cooperation and Communication was held in Gaoxiong on May 28th.
There were altogether 150 participants attending this conference, among which the Mainland delegation was led by the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Dong Yang. Besides, some government officials and leaders of industrial associations were invited to participate in this event. They were the Division Chief of Department of Industry of NDRC Mr. Li Gang, the Division Chief of Equipment Department of MIIT Mr. Qian Minghua, the Division Chief of Department of Industry Policy of MIIT Ms. Zhou Xiaolan, the Principal Staff Member of Department of Economy of Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council Mr. Li Yang, the Secretary General of Telematics Industry Application Alliance Mr. Pang Chunlin, the President of TVMA Mr. Chen Guorong, the Section Chief of Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Mr. Chen Pengyong, the Director of Cross-Strait Exchanges and Communication Office Mr. Xu Jisheng, the General Manager of ARTC Mr. Huang Longzhou and the President of TTIA Mr. Xu Mingren.
The conference had been held for four successive years since 2009. From the very beginning, it was planed and organized with the view of serving for cross-strait auto industries, such as building an open, authoritative and influential communication platform, deepening cross-strait cooperation, discussing hot and common issues and seeking cooperative opportunities, so as to realize the joint development of the auto industries both in Mainland and Taiwan. Under the active participation of government agencies, industrial associations and relevant enterprises as well as various forms of exchanges, the past four years had achieved remarkable and fruitful achievements, thus pushing forward the cooperation and development of cross-strait auto industries.

Then, the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Shi Jianhua gave a speech entitled on Introduction of the Running Situation of the Mainland Automotive Industry. In the speech, he informed the running situation in 2012 and the first four months of 2013 as well as summarized the past-few-years achievements that had achieved by this conference. Later, a speech entitled on Servitization of Electric Cars and Cross-Strait Cooperative Strategy was addressed by the Director of CIER Mr. Chen Xinhong to prospect the cooperative opportunities between Mainland and Taiwan in the field of electric cars services.

Leaders of cross-strait automotive associations awarded speakers
The group meeting of electric cars was jointly hosted by the Division Chief Mr. Li Gang, the Deputy Secretary General Ms. Xu Yanhua and the Assistant Manager Mr. Wang Zhengjian. The participants between Mainland and Taiwan carried out deep discusses on issues concerning the research and development of key parts as well as its investment and cooperation, the promotion of pilot work to build a perfect operation pattern for electric cars and boosting cross-strait cooperation on standards, laws and regulations.

The group meeting of telematics was jointly hosted by Mr. Pang Chunlin and Mr. Xu Mingren. The participants cross the strait made deep exchanges on standardization cooperation of smart buses, Beidou in-vehicle information services and real-time traffic information. Besides, they discussed each one’s advantages of telematics in Mainland and Taiwan as well as future possibilities on cooperation.
