Organized by CAAM, the “Development Strategy and Policy Research on Chinese Brand Automobiles” seminar was held in Shanghai on June 26th. It was hosted by the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Li Jingsheng. Over twenty representatives attended this seminar, including the research group members and representatives of auto manufacturers, such as FAW, SAIC, DFM, JAC, Geely, etc.

On the seminar, the Director of Policy Researching Department of CAAM Mr. Ni Quan introduced the current research status of Chinese brand automobiles. Then, the Deputy Director Mr. Zhu Kongyuan gave an introduction about the subject “Development Strategy and Policy Research on Chinese Brand Automobiles”. After that, all the participants carried out deep discussions on this subject. They raised some major difficulties they had met during the development of Chinese brand. They thought that the current issue of developing Chinese brand was inadequate capability on technical innovation and backward auto parts industry. As the development of Chinese brand automobiles was critical to the interests of the whole nation, they hoped the government could formulate some relevant policies to encourage and support this industry.
Representatives present at the meeting agreed that this research would play a very important role in the development of Chinese brand automobiles. The seminar achieved full success.
