On Dec. 28th, AQSIQ and SAC united National Energy Administration, MIIT and the Ministry of Science and Technology to hold a press conference in Beijing to issue the newly revised EV charging interface and communications protocol standards. The Secretary General Ms. Xu Yanhua, on behalf of China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance (EVCIPA), attended the press conference.

The press conference was hosted by the Deputy Director of SAC Mr. Yin Minghan. The Director of Industrial Department-Second of SAC Ms. Dai Hong explained the standards. The Vice Director of State Grid Mr. Shen Jianxin and the Senior Vice President of BYD Mr. Lian Yubo delivered speeches on behalf of application units. Besides, the Director of SAC Mr. Tian Shihong and the Vice Chief of National Energy Administration Mr. Zheng Shanjie made important instructions.
        As the basic element of realizing EV charging, the unification and specification of EV charging interface and communications protocol standards was the technical foundation to make sure the connectivity between EVs and charging infrastructures. This time, the revision of five standards fully enhanced the charging safety and compatibility.
        On the press conference, Mr. Zheng Shanjie emphasized that National Energy Administration would organize State Grid, China Electricity Council and EVCIPA to jointly accelerate the construction of charging infrastructures, strengthen the implementation of new standards and further specify the access system. Meanwhile, a series of works including IOT, information exchange standard development, charging settlement connectivity and infrastructure harmonization would be carried out as well, so as to promote the healthy and sustainable development.
