2016 Automotive International Trade Coordination Committee Annual Meeting Held in Jinan

To better tackle with export trends, study overseas development planning of Chinese auto companies and accelerate the process of internationalization, CAAM held 2016 Automotive International Trade Coordination Committee Annual Meeting in Jinan on Apr. 7th. Over 30 representatives in charge of export business from more than 20 auto companies attended the meeting. The Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Shi Jianhua and leaders from MOFCOM participated in as well. The Meeting was hosted by the Secretary Assistant and Director of Trade Coordination Department of CAAM Mr. Xu Haidong.

Mr. Xu Haidong firstly introduced guests present and the agenda of the meeting. Then, the Director of Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau of MOFCOM Ms. Su Xuxia was invited to introduce the general situation of trade barriers in terms of trends, countermeasures and suggestions.

Mr. Shi Jianhua, Deputy Secretary General of CAAM, analyzed export situation

Mr. Shi Jianhua summarized the overall situation of China imports & exports and analyzed such situation in automotive industry in detail. Through scientific analysis of short-term and long-term factors, Mr. Shi Jianhua forecasted the situation of this year. He stressed that China auto companies should attach importance to the long-term strategic planning and strengthen localized management in the process of going global. Besides, Mr. Shi Jianhua introduced the “13th Five-Year” Plan of automotive industry formulated by CAAM, especially the part concerning exports.
        Mr. Xu Haidong summarized the works done by the Committee in 2015, especially ten major programs, which affirmed by those representatives.
        According to the agenda, the representatives deeply exchanged views on issues of most concern and posed their suggestions on the “13th Five-Year” Plan of automotive industry and overseas data sharing. The majority of companies present suggested that we could make use of the platform of the Committee to set up overseas information database by different countries, especially those less developed countries, to achieve data and information sharing under the leading of CAAM.

Mr. Xu Haidong summarized the meeting. He highly appreciated those suggestions posed present and made next-step arrangements.
        The representatives fully affirmed the outcomes of this meeting. Meanwhile, they expressed they would actively participate in those activities organized by the Committee to strengthen mutual communication and cooperation, so as to jointly push forward the overseas development of China automotive industry.
