On June 21, jointly organized by CAAM and SAE-China, the initiative release and workshop on NEV safety was held in Beijing. The meeting was hosted by Mr. Fu Bingfeng, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM. Mr. Luo Junjie, the Deputy Head of Equipment Industry Department of MIIT, Mr. Ma Chunsheng, the Deputy Director of Automotive Division of Equipment Industry Department of MIIT and Mr. Zhang Xuming, the Deputy Secretary General of SAE-China attended the meeting. Besides, nearly 60 representatives from major auto manufacturers, battery enterprises and charging operators participated in, including FAW, SAIC, CATL, Gotion, State Grid, Potevio, etc.

　　Mr. Fu Bingfeng, the Executive Vice Chairman and Secretary General of CAAM, informed the background and agenda of the meeting. Mr. Luo Junjie, the Deputy Head of Equipment Industry Department of MIIT, pointed out it was timely and meaningful to hold this initiative meeting. All relevant enterprises in the industry should take the initiative to make important contributions to the safety of new energy vehicles. He stated that safety issues, as the top priority of the development of NEV industry, may be devastating to the industry's hard-won momentum. Therefore, all relevant enterprises should attach great importance to the safety responsibility, and firmly resolve to solve safety problems as well as provide the public with safe, reliable and high-quality products. All links of the NEV industry should work together to strengthen safety and security capabilities, promote the high-quality development, and ensure the safe operation of new energy vehicles throughout their life cycle.

　　Mr. Zhang Xuming, the Deputy Secretary General of SAE-China, said that the safety issues should be viewed rationally. At the same time of strengthening technology research and development to improve the technical standard system and policy guarantee system, it is necessary to strengthen science popularization and publicity, so that users of new energy vehicles can have a correct understanding and feel accepted and assured to use new energy vehicles.

　　Then, Mr. Fu Bingfeng and Mr. Zhang Xuming separately released the New Energy Vehicle Safety Initiative and the popular science video and handbook of How to Use New Energy Vehicles More Safely. The related representatives from FAW, Dongfeng, SAIC, CATL, State Grid, Potevio, etc. made keynote speeches to introduce their works on safety protection.

　　At the end, Mr. Fu Bingfeng stressed that companies from the whole industrial chain should pay high attention to the safety issues to actively take the main body responsibilities and do well in safety supervision and maintenance inspection. Meanwhile, the companies should strengthen the publicity work of new energy vehicles to make positive guidance, so that to let the consumers trust and correctly use new energy vehicles.
