2019 the 1st CAAM-RIOH Workshop Held in BeijingOn May 9, 2019, the CAAM (China Association of Automobile Manufacturers)-RIOH (Research Institute of Highway Ministry of Transport) workshop was successfully held in Beijing. Over 30 participants attended, including the Deputy Secretary General of CAAM Mr. Ye Shengji, the Secretary General Assistant of CAAM Mr. Li Shaohua, the Director of Motor Transport Center of RIOH Mr. Zhou Wei, the Vice Director of Motor Transport Center of RIOH Mr. Xu Shuquan and the representatives from commercial vehicle manufacturers. 

2019 the 1st CAAM-RIOH Workshop

　　Mr. Ye Shengji extended his warm welcome and sincere thanks to the participation of RIOH leaders and experts as well as CV representatives. He fully confirmed the efforts and contributions made by the RIOH on enhancing standardized management of road transport vehicles and improving CV technical upgrades and high-quality development. CAAM attached great importance to this workshop; and sincerely wished to communicate in-depth and promote understanding with the RIOH and CV manufacturers to actively explore solutions regarding to the problems occurred in current vehicle management, so that to jointly push forward the upgrading of commercial vehicles and the healthy and sustainable development of transportation industry.

　　Mr. Zhou Wei thanked CAAM and CV manufacturers for their continued support; and fully confirmed the active role of communicating platform in promoting technical management of road transport vehicles. He briefed the current situation and next working directions of RIOH; hoped to continue to get support from CAAM and CV manufacturers to jointly enhance the security upgrade of China road transport.

　　Mr. Li Shaohua introduced the purpose and topics of the workshop. He expressed that CAAM would coordinate with RIOH to carry out related works to constantly improve the vehicle technical levels to achieve the coordinated unification of the management and product upgrading, together with CV manufacturers. 

　　During the workshop, CAAM and the representatives from CV manufacturers comprehensively analyzed the implementation of relevant operation management standards and regulations; also reflected the industrial demands. Besides, several issues concerning qualified model and interim model declaration, fastening point test of qualified models, stability test against rollover of tank vehicles, law enforcement standards of local operation departments and review standard of qualified model declaration had been carefully discussed, in which the RIOH leaders and experts offered patient and meticulous explanations and suggested solutions as well.

　　At the end of the workshop, CAAM and RIOH reached a consensus on further strengthening communicating mechanism to jointly promote the resolution of hot and difficult issues of the industry. Both sides would carry out in-depth cooperation in terms of standards and regulations promotion and coordination as well as management policies study and implementation through the participation in each other’s basic research and jointly organizing common research to work together to promote the high-quality development of road transport vehicles and the transportation industry.
