HYCAN, a Chinese EV innovator backed by GAC Group and NIO, will formally put the HYCAN Z03, its second mass-produced model, onto the market on October 18, according to an official press release.
The Z03 was open for presale from August 20. The model comes with three trim levels, namely, the five-seater Chaowan, the five-seater Chaozhi, and the four-seater Z Chao. Of those, two five-seater variants are priced from 130,000 yuan ($20,180) to 150,000 yuan ($23,280) for preorder. Price of the Z Chao will be unveiled in the near future.
In terms of exterior, the HYCAN Z03 adopts the design language dubbed “Aesthetic of Combat Power”. The 7-shaped lamp strips, which can also be seen in the HYCAN 007, make the headlights quite unmistakable.
At the rear, a light strip that stretches across the width of the car is a trendy design.
With a length, width, and height of 4,602 mm, 1,900 mm, and 1,645 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,750mm, the Z03 is indeed a compact SUV.
In addition, the new car will offer 7 body color schemes for customers' free choices.
Inside the cabin, the Z03 carries a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and a 14.6-inch console-mounted touch screen with 2K resolution. The HYCAN PILOT 2.0 intelligent driver assistance system can meet the needs of users for intelligent mobility in whole scenarios. Besides, users are allowed to control the ADAS functions through voice instructions.
As for power performance, the electric motor used in the Chaowan and the Chaozhi versions can churn out up to 135kW and 225 N·m, while the Z Chao will carry an e-motor that is good for 160kW and 225 N·m. The Z03 is capable of NEDC-rated ranges of 500km and 600km based on different battery capacities (64.6kWh and 76.8kWh).
