Both parties expect to co-build 100 "charging + solar+ storage" integrated green energy stations over the next three years. Besides, the German auto giant will move faster on connecting its vehicles to the green power service network of State Grid EV Service.

“The idea advocated by State Grid EV Service that low-carbon sustainable services can be achieved through the application of new technologies and green mobility services should be offered to more users is in tune with BMW's thinking. We will co-explore innovative charging technologies and co-build a more sustainable and more efficient e-mobility ecosystem,” said Jochen Goller, President and CEO of BMW Group Region China.

BMW Group signed on June 3 2020 an agreement with State Grid EV Service for a strategic cooperation on the R&D and innovation of battery charging technologies, the popularization of charging services and products, and the promotion of NEV-used electricity. The deal made BMW the first global automobile brand to partner with State Grid EV Service.

The first “charging + solar+ storage” integrated green power station co-built by the two parties has been put into operation in Beijing. It is expected to supply 130,000 kWh of green solar energy per year, which can support around 770,000 km of range for an all-electric BMW iX3.
