New energy vehicles (NEV) drew wide attention at the 19th International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2021). Automakers from home and abroad brought their NEVs to the exhibition.

NEVs are popular in China, the world's largest auto market, as they reduce fossil fuel consumption and air pollution. 

Sales of NEVs in China increased by 2.8 times year on year in the first quarter amid the steady recovery of the country's automobile sector, data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed.
